A young Bella Swan (at 17) decided to live with her father in Forks, where mist and rain was constant.

Bella, a young girl at 17 from Phoenix, decided to live with her dad, Charlie in a small and gloomy Pacific North-West town of Forks. Forks where she doesn't expect to like it, does have her a new set of friends and settle into a new school.

As she starts the day in Forks, she was immediately intrigued by a set of students. Those students are the Cullen. Adopted children of Dr. Cullen. They are all attractive and almost inhumanly beautiful. But what she caught most of her attention was Edward Cullen. For she can't take off her eyes on him.

At first Edward is aloof, sometimes it almost seems like he can’t stand to be in the same room as her, but eventually they strike up an unlikely friendship. Even as Bella falls hopelessly and irrevocably in love with Edward, she still can’t work out exactly what makes him so different to everyone else.

Bella's friends have invited her in a trip to the beach where she was told by Jacob, a family friend, about the "cold ones". A local legend that was about a group of blood drinkers who have sworn off hunting humans but are still welcome on Indian land because vampires are not to be trusted. Realising Edward is vampire changes nothing for Bella, she knows that she still loves him even if he’s not human.

She eventually told Edward that she knows that he and his family are vampires but still she was not afraid of him and was deeply inlove with him. And she is willing to become a vampire for him.

But Edward refuses her and tell her about their stories. For Edward his love for Bella is both a delight and a torment. A delight because she is the first person he has loved since he was made a vampire. A torment because although he has sworn off human blood and only hunts animals the craving for human blood never truly leaves him and the very scent of her also stirs his hunger for blood. And the fear to loose her when a set of vampires, "the hunters", came to their town and started to hunt for bloods.
